The Miami Yacht Club is Miami!

When it was originally founded in 1927 as the Southern Florida Boat Racing Association, the focus was primarily on sailing and racing.  Several years later, the Club became the Miami Yacht Club and moved to our current location on Watson Island between the City of Miami and Miami Beach.

For over 80 years we have been actively working with our community to foster an appreciation in the beautiful waters of Biscayne Bay.  We teach children, teenagers and adults to sail through our 501C-3 not-for-profit the Miami Yacht Club Youth Sailing Foundation. These classes are open to everyone - not just members of the Club.  We provide meeting space to many local, national and international organizations including the Emerald Society, Coast Guard Auxilliary, Multihull Association of South Florida and others.  We also host the City of Miami Marine Patrol and Underwater Recovery Unit.

Our sailors have represented Miami Yacht Club all over the world; from youth events to the Olympics.  Through the efforts of our internationally recognized coaches, dedicated sailors and MYC families, we are truly the “Home of Sailing Champions”!

Members of the public are encouraged to stop by and have lunch in our waterside restaurant “Lattitudes” from Tuesday-Sunday after 11:30 AM and for Breakfast on Saturdays at 9:00 AM.  FREE parking and transient dockage are available.  The Club is also available for private parties.  (Check the Events button to the left for information.)

Fair winds!
